The Discovery Park is the largest city park in Seattle. Occupying an area of over 534 acres, the park is situated on the Magnolia Bluff. It includes a couple of miles of tidal beaches, cliffs, meadows, groves, shrubs and sand dunes.

To the east of the Discovery Park is the Kiwanis Ravines, a protected green space, which is home to the great blue heron colony.
